Netflix confirmed in a call with investors that the second season of the smash hit series “Squid Game” is scheduled to premiere in 2024. Thus, the sequel will return to the screen three years after the release of the original.
Also this year, Netflix is going to launch sequels to the series “Bridgerton,” “The Diplomat,” and “The Empress.” The fourth season of the show “Emily in Paris” and the launch of the series “The Three-Body Problem” from the creators of “Game of Thrones” are also expected.
The second season of The Squid Game has been filming since last summer. Netflix has not announced the exact premiere date.
Lead actor Lee Jong-jae noted that the key theme of the second season of “The Squid Game” will be revenge, and Lee Byung-hun (game organizer in the first season) will return to his role.
